Il s'agit de SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2. J'ai 2 tables. Les deux sont identiques (données et indexation), sauf que la première table a une colonne VALUE as nvarchar(max)
et la seconde a la même colonne as nvarchar(800)
. Cette colonne est incluse dans un index non clusterisé. J'ai également créé un index cluster sur les deux tables. J'ai également reconstruit les index. La longueur de chaîne maximale dans cette colonne est de 650.
Si j'exécute la même requête sur les deux, la nvarchar(800)
table est toujours plus rapide, plusieurs fois deux fois plus rapide. Bien sûr, il semble que cela va à l'encontre du but de "varchar". Le tableau contient plus de 800 000 lignes. La requête devrait examiner environ 110 000 lignes (ce que le plan estime).
Selon les statistiques io, il n'y a pas de lecture de lob, donc tout semble être en ligne. Les plans d'exécution sont les mêmes, sauf qu'il existe une légère différence dans le pourcentage de coût entre les deux tables et la taille de ligne estimée est plus grande avec le nvarchar(max)
(91 octets contre 63 octets). Le nombre de lectures est également à peu près le même.
Pourquoi la différence?
