Pour la plupart, vous pouvez obtenir des villes incorporées avec la couche Lieux (mais méfiez-vous du lieu désigné du recensement! Respirez profondément et plongez dans les définitions du recensement ici: Census.gov/geo/www/2010census/gtc_10.html ). La couche de subdivision de comté peut également être utile.

Vous ne dites pas si vous utilisez esri ou non.
Les produits ESRI sont livrés avec un DVD "data and maps".
Il n'est pas dans shp mais peut être sélectionné et converti en forme en utilisant arcmap.
J'ai installé le mien sur un lecteur réseau dans le dossier mapdata. Le reste du chemin est comme ça.

Vérifiez les fichiers TIGER / Line. Vous voulez rechercher des calques "Placer" pour chaque état, que vous pouvez affiner dans les fichiers de formes nationaux en sélectionnant chaque état. Ou, pour la version 2012, vous pouvez récupérer tous les états de cette page .

U1 Census designated place (CDP) with a name that is commonly recognized for
the populated area, and designated as a populated place by the U.S.
Geological Survey.

U2 Census designated place (CDP) with a name that is not commonly recognized
for the populated area (e.g., a combination of the names of two or three
commonly recognized communities, or a name that identifies the location of
the CDP in relation to an adjacent incorporated place).

Je suppose que vous pouvez déduire les grandes villes par leur taille et / ou leur population. Dans un tel cas, vous pouvez utiliser cette géodatabase pré-jointe qui a les limites de la ville de 2010 ainsi que la superficie ET les estimations de base de la population.
